Associate Pastor - Wakefield Central Baptist Church

Wakefield Central Baptist Church, Zebulon, NC is seeking to employ a Part Time Associate Pastor.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: 
To provide discipleship, pastoral care, and support to Senior Pastor leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide educational oversight and administrative support to include: Organize, oversee, and resource all Sunday School classes ensuring alignment with Baptist faith and message. Develop and train teachers and small group leaders. Assist with recruitment of teachers. Develop new Sunday School classes and organize retreats. Support church committees in their functions. Provide Discipleship such as: Develop and lead a recurring "New Believers" class, guiding individuals through the basics of the faith and baptism as needed. Develop and lead a new membership class as needed. Provide pastoral care & conduct visitation: Assist the Senior Pastor in a regular rotation of hospital, homebound, and family visitation. Provide biblical counseling and support to families in need. Provide preaching & worship support: Participate in worship service in coordination with Worship Leader and Senior Pastor. Preach approximately once per quarter to maintain visibility with the congregation and as required in the absence of the Senior Pastor. Assist in the administration of the ordinances (The Lord’s Supper and Baptism).

CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Recommended by the Personnel Committee and with the approval of the church. Compensated according to the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and Budget and Finance Committee with the approval of the church. Work schedule will be approximately 20 to 30 hours per week and include Sunday School/Small Group and Sunday worship. Work may include additional duties to support church operations and its congregation as determined by Senior Pastor. All ministry staff should be supportive of Wakefield Central Baptist Church’s affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention and our adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. Adhere to all church approved guidelines as set forth in the Wakefield Central Baptist Church bylaws, employee handbook/personnel manual, and all policy and procedure manuals. Adhere to the staff covenant.
