Chaplain

Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, Raleigh, NC is seeking a Full-Time Chaplain.

Job Description:
1. Works with another Chaplain to provide spiritual and psychological support to Springmoor Community (diverse population of 600 ).
2. Provides this support to individual residents through direct one-on-one counseling interventions and /or through group counseling / support groups on topics; such as bereavement, aging, health, end-of-life, and spiritual growth issues.
3. Makes in-home visits to residents on campus and in medical care facilities.
4. Leads worship at vespers every few and shares vesper planning and leadership with Chaplain.
5. Does end of life work with patients.
6. Conducts memorial services with Chaplain.
7. Responds some medical calls and provides support to families.
8. Primary hours are Monday to Friday along with Sunday evening services. Carries a pager and responds to calls of crisis. ( includes a weekend rotation )
Qualifications: Educational qualifications are a preferred master's degree in the area of theological studies, pastoral care, counseling or social work is preferred. Possess knowledge of theologically-based pastoral counseling skills as well as knowledge of theories and principles of aging. Ability to work effectively with residents of all religious beliefs or with an absence of religious beliefs is essential.
